The Silvery Side of School

sofie and daughter

January 27, 2021

The pandemic caused several silver linings for my daughter today.

The biggest news?  She made the high honors list—for the first time!  She’s rightfully proud, and so is her mother!

Today also marked the beginning of the second semester, but it was the normal Wednesday half-day of Zoom classes.  Kids received instruction this morning in their homes.  By 12:30 PM, they could easily step outside and enjoy the perfect sledding conditions we have after yesterday’s five-inch snowfall.  My daughter ventured outside with the dogs, took a few fun selfies and hit the driveway for a couple of quick runs.

Nothing is normal, even after almost a year.  We just have to keep finding these silver linings, wherever they are!

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
