Today was the second day in a row that I had the entire house to myself for the entire day.
March 16th marked the beginning of the cancellation of in-person classes for the high school, and the switch to online learning. Two high schoolers started staying home, working from the kitchen, the living room or their bedrooms, depending on the day and the class.
But now, one is back with her family in Spain. The other is visiting with relatives in the Midwest.
March 29th, our college son moved back into our house, leaving his college life at home. (First, he completed a two-week quarantine period after he returned from spring break in Spain.) He claimed the loft as his work space.
Today, he is off to work.
The two full-time workers, son number two and my husband, were out for some of March and April. They were the first to leave the quarantine house.
I am reminded, yet again, of the silver lining of COVID-19. There were precious family moments made during a time none of us expected.
The silver lining of today is the gift of a quiet, peaceful house.
