It’s Friday. My daughter needs to be in the school for that first block class—but today is a half day. The school is serving as a vaccination site, and they will be on half days for Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
My challenge of finding “something to do” for her eighty-minute block class changed: I only have forty-five minutes today.
I decide to visit my husband’s office, with my computer in hand. I gained an extra thirty minutes to write on my next work-in-progress, a fictional story about two young dairy farmers in southern Vermont. It’s hard to squeeze in this writing—but it’s my silver lining because it’s also fun!
