New Friends

new starts

February 8, 2021

I am thinking today about several young people I know.

A year ago, one had a girlfriend who just didn’t treat him very well.  Another was starting to realize the people she had surrounded herself were not really the type of friends she wanted.  One was being taunted by a fellow classmate, but she couldn’t change to another classroom.

Enter COVID restrictions.  Suddenly the couple were forced into separation, the friends no longer an option to hang with and the classmates unable to interact with each other.

Now, the girlfriend is gone. New friends are being carefully cultivated after serious introspection and expectation readjustments.  The classroom no longer serves as a meeting point when they come to school on different days.

Silver linings for these three.

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
