Happy Chickens!

chickens 1

February 25, 2021

When you are quarantined at home because someone has been diagnosed with COVID, what do you do?

Well, in our house today, we cleaned the chicken coop.  I asked Son #2 to help out, and between the two of us shoveling and my husband driving the loader tractor, the chore was done in about forty-five minutes.

This is a chore that must be done according to the weather.  When it is too cold—as it has been—you can’t chisel through.  And then, once the weather turns warmer, if you let it go too long, you will be walking through a soupy mess of half-melted snow.  Today promised perfect conditions, but normally, a Thursday just wouldn’t be possible.  However, with Son #2 officially not able to work as a plumber’s apprentice (impossible to do when you can’t be on the job site!) and his parents able to juggle things while they work from home…

The chickens are enjoying a wonderfully clean house this afternoon.

Silver lining for them!

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
