Flexibility

time efficiency

April 8, 2021

Prior to quarantining and nearly everyone working from home, if you wanted to serve on a board or support a civic group, you went out at night to meetings.

Meetings were the thing that stopped folks from volunteering.  “I don’t have time” was a common refrain—as well as “I need to be home to put the kids to bed.”

That’s not so true now.  So far this week, I’ve been in two board meetings—and none of us ever left our homes.  Better yet—and more importantly in terms of who can participate—we held them during the day.  Every member of the board is working.  But everyone of us also has more flexibility.

Lives are blurred, with the work-life balance shifting constantly.  Employers recognize the need for flexibility now more than ever… and that change is a silver lining!

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
