FARM #1
UNITED DREAMS DAIRY is aptly named: two friends who were farming individually decided to work together to create their “united dreams..” The farm started in 1997; the dream has expanded into the next generation.
The farm milks around 765 Holsteins in a double 12, right-angle, Delaval milking parlor. They utilize freestall barns mostly, with some .heifers raised on bedding packs. Pregnant heifers are raised by a grower until four weeks before calving. The farm uses Select Sires as their genetic source.
They grow corn for grain and silage, alfalfa and some wheat on 1350 acres of land they own or rent.
They built a new cross-vent barn in 2018, and have recently completed two new calf barns. They work with eight employees.
FARM #2
MYSTIC VALLEY DAIRY was started as Jenny-Lou Holsteins in 1961, which is the breeding herd. The current milking site started in 1998.
Four family members, and nine employees work with the 400 milking Holsteins, 480 heifers and calves, and 60 dry cows. The farm uses Select Sires, and milks in a double 14 boumatic parallel parlor. They have 1,200 acres in cultivation, in corn, soybeans, alfalfa, wheat and cover crops.
The herd is high-producing with a focus on longevity. They have marketed over 4,000 cows over the last 15 years. They currently have 51 cows classified excellent and 48 cows that have produced 200,000 lbs of lifetime milk and have a somatic cell count under 100,000. Their most famous bull is Jenny-Lou Mrsi Toystory-ET, the highest ever selling AI bull for semen sales, selling 2.4 million units in his lifetime.

FARM #1
VOEGELI FARMS milk around 135 registered Brown Swiss and run about 1400 acres.
The farm began in 1854–with 135 years of milking exclusively Brown Swiss. They appreciate the high-component milk, with is made into cheese by the Chalet Cheese Co-op in nearby Monroe, Wisconsin.
Voegli’s now have the sixth generation on this farmstead, along with several long-term employees they truly appreciate. They installed two Lely A5 robots a few years ago.
They are proud of their 172-year history, They are the home of the longest consecutive classified “Excellent” streak: 16 generations with the first starting in 1957. They have exhibited at every World Dairy Expo, and are one of the oldest Brown Swiss Farms in the United States.
FARM #2
TRUTTMAN DAIRY was established in 1899. They currently have generations four, five and six all working together on the farm. Additionally, they have eight non-family employees for herdsman, milking and calf care.
The farm milks 475, with another 350 heifers, 75 dry cows and 100 calves. The majority of the herd is Jersey, with a lot of “Ho Jo’s”, a Holstein-Jersey cross. They like the cross to increase production, and to better capitalize on the increasing value of the beef-cross calf and cull cow. They are still vigilant about breeding to maintain the protein percentage for the cheese market, and they focus heavily on health traits when selecting genetics (mainly from Genex).
They operate 950 acres and emphasize sustainable farming that protects the health of their land and animals.
