Coffee Around the World

February 15, 2021

I “met” with my virtual exchange students today for our monthly cultural enhancement activity.  Using Zoom, a friend and local business owner gave my Ukrainian and Kyrgyzstani virtual exchange students a complete tour.

In about an hour, we received a quick lesson in the world of coffee.  We learned about importation, coffee bean roasting, packaging, taste testing–and our favorite:  the fine art of drawing designs in a latte.

I’ve known the owners of this business for about twenty-two years; we are close friends.  Thanks to COVID and my virtual exchange students’ interest in the coffee, I, too, learned a lot this morning.  Silver lining!

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
