Booming (Silver Linings 8-31-2020)

booming construction

Real estate agents report houses “flying off the market—even the ones that had been waiting for months.”

People in the trades here in town note that they are fielding several calls a week from new homeowners who need some work done.  Sometimes it’s electrical, or air conditioning and heat, or plumbing.  Sometimes it’s remodeling or light carpentry.  Their answers?  “Sorry, we are all booked up.”

The school near the ski resort has 25 new students—an impressive number, by the way, when you consider that the towns in this area are pretty small. There are 1,400 inhabitants in one, and only 300 in another.  The population had decreased and student numbers overall are down.  An influx of families is welcomed!

These are much needed silver linings for our area.

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
