Background Mulling (Silver Lining 5-13-2020)

May 13, 2020

I have been doing some “background mulling” over these past few weeks.  This is what I call it when I put a question into my head, without expecting a fast answer.  I guess it is kind of percolating, letting things just kind roll around for a while, exploring different possible steps and having them play forward towards various endings.

Time and time again, I am taught that I am not a patient person.  This sort of “background mulling” is only acceptable to me if I remind myself repeatedly that I don’t need an answer right away.  I like to think and move forward.  I like action.  I like to see a conclusion.  I don’t like unknowns and being unable to plan.

But the silver lining out of this enforced time of so many unknowns is that my “background mulling” is calmer.  And I think calmer will lead to better clarity.

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
