Australia Program Update

January 21, 2021

The Australian programs report that the “world needs to calm down before we open borders.” In fact, one program commented, “We now have closed borders within [different parts] of Australia, so to be honest, I have no idea when/if they will be open in 2021. Let’s not hold our breath.”

Another program is a bit more positive. They are “interested in seeing applications,” but can’t make any commitments or give any time frames.

If you are from these countries you can be considered (eventually): Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmakr, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Nambia, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, Sweden, Uruguay, Ukraine, USA and the United Kingdom.  Note that having an agricultural degree and three years of post-university experience in agriculture is also required–along with nearly fluent English.

If you are from a different country–and you have a tourist visa–there are volunteer opportunities.  These are without pay, but cover housing and food.  This may be good way to make contacts for longer stays (although it is not guaranteed).

Dairy Dreaming…

brings news from the dairy world, specifically on Global Cow offerings and things that relate to training and courses, immigration and international dairying.  (And we do try to make it fun, too!)
