An Unexpected Extra

ice skating

January 22, 2021

This afternoon, our oldest son’s college sent us an update on their plans to bring students back for the second semester.  They start up again just ten days from now.

Beyond the various and important details on testing protocols and timing, allowed socializing and an improved dashboard to compare positivity rates with the fall semester and the surrounding towns, the email included a bit of fun.  They have created a new, outdoor skating rink.

My son will likely not be one of the ones rushing to use it.  He seemed to like ice skating best in middle school, where it was “the” hotspot for 7th and 8th grade social mingling.

But what a nice concept for the students as they arrive—and a sure silver lining for those who love to skate!

Silver Linings…

started as my personal response to 2020’s global pandemic of COVID-19.  When I published them locally,  I was surprised by how much people responded to them.

I hope they bring some positivity to you, too, during this unsettling time
