I don’t know if I dare to even write this statement, because I feel like I am tempting fate. But here goes:
I feel almost “all caught up”.
My email inbox is down to about five messages. My pile of accounting is down to about five items. The long list of business to-do’s is dwindling and I can see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. My house could be vacuumed (it could always be vacuumed more), but there are no huge tumbleweeds of dog fur in the corners at the moment. The laundry room even is quiet.
It’s been years since I have felt this calm. Literally. Years.
In fact, for the last three years, I’ve jokingly said that I just “need the world to stop for a bit, so I can catch up.”
Well, in a way, that has happened. I’m not at all sure that it is overwhelmingly positive for society as a whole, and I’m quite sure it was negative for the world’s economy. But just for a bit, I’m going to take this stoppage as a good thing. In fact, I’ll count it as my silver lining for today.
